Purchasing a Twilght Puppy
Our first priority when placing a puppy is to make sure the right puppy goes to the right home. Puppies are placed according to temperment and the information received on the puppy application. Making the puppy application very important.
Puppies raised at Twilight Acres will be well socialized and introduced to as many new site's and sounds as possible. Weather depending when they are old enough they will be introduced to the outside world and even car rides.
We encourage all who are interested in one of our puppies to come for a visit if possible and meet the parent or parents that are onsite. Once the puppies are born they can have visitor's around 4-5 weeks of age.
Once you have decided that a Twilight puppy is what you would like, then the first step will be to fill out a puppy application. Once I receive it I will contact you back to let you know that I have received it and we can talk. You may have questions for me also and I encourage you to ask any questions you have. After all this is a future family member that you are looking to adopt. The next step would be to send in a deposit to reserve a puppy. A $400 deposit is required. If for any reason I do not have a puppy available from the requested litter, (if you wanted a male but only a female was available, etc.) then the deposit is refundable. If you just change your mind then the deposit is not refundable. The deposit can also be bounced to another litter.
The total cost of a Twilight puppy is $1800, which includes a health guarantee, first shots, dewormed up to date, micro-chipped and puppy regisrtation with either TSSR or NSBR. Our puppies go out with spay/neuter contracts. If you are interested in a breed/show quality pup let me know and we can talk about that, as the contract will be different.
When the puppies reach the age of 7-8 weeks of age we will have qualified litter evaluators come to access the conformation and temperments of each individual puppy. You will be notified of the date, time and place of the evaluation and you are welcome to attend. This will help us match the right puppies with the right families.
If you are able to attend the LER then you will most likely be able to take you new one home with you. We will talk about the items you may need as this time gets closer. If you live to far away and the puppy will need to be transported then these arrangements will be made in advance. All cost related to shipping of the puppy are the responsibility of the buyer.
Once you have your new puppy home, take things slowly, introduce him/her to one room at a time, let them get settled, this is all new and scary. Please have your home puppy proofed in advanced and the sleeping arrangement picked, we highly recommend crate training. If you need and information on crate training or anything else let me know.
We highly recommend puppy classes and later obediance classes. A well behaved and happy dog makes for very happy owners.
